By-Election for Littlehampton River Ward called for Thursday 8th December 2011
A Conservative councillor elected to represent the people of River Ward has been forced to resign. He was elected just last May by only 20 votes over a Labour candidate.
The Conservative councillor who has just walked out on the Town Council was one of those from outside of Littlehampton elected on both the Conservative and the Lib Dem tickets. He now remains a Councillor for Barnham on Arun District Council. The local Conservative Party who approved him as their candidate in May seem to have offered no explanation. We believe electors in River should be treated with more respect
